USPS Mailing Requirements
One question our customers tend to ask is, "does this paper meet USPS standards for mailing?" It's a great question because understanding this information saves them time and money - two very valuable parts of life.
To help out, we've put together this little article with all the information you'll need to know, as it relates to USPS Mailing Requirements.
Postcards
It is important to know that postcards can be separated into 2 size classes. Depending on the size class you are working with, you will either have to send paper via First Class mail or Standard Mail.
Small Post Cards - Sent Via First Class Mail
- Minimum Measurements - 3 1/2″ x 5″
- Maximum Measurements - 4 1/4″ x 6″
- Thickness Minimum - 50lb Cover
- Thickness Maximum - 130lb Cover
Smaller Postcards from Desktop Supplies
Large Post Cards - Sent Via Standard Mail
- Minimum Measurements - 4 1/2" X 6"
- Maximum Measurements - 6 1/8″ x 11 1/2″
- Maximum Height - 1/4″ Thick
Larger Postcards from Desktop Supplies
Our Postcard Paper falls between 65lb Cover and 90lb Cover, so you are guaranteed to have no problems shipping!
Enveloped Paper
According to USPS mailing requirements, everything else pretty much needs to be considered as a letter. These include our Greeting Cards, Invitations, Brochures, Stationery (folded at least once), etc.
Large Post Cards - Sent Via Standard Mail
- Minimum Measurement - 5″ x 3 1/2″
- Maximum Measurement - 6 1/8″ X 11 1/2″
- Maximum Height - 1/4″ Thick
