Have Your Sweetheart Swooning: Write the Perfect Love Note
Valentine's Day is a few months away, but it doesn't mean you can't surprise the one you love with a card. And odds are, since you're a Desktop customer, you make your own cards for the ones you love (High Five - you romantic, you). But if you're looking to take your cards to the next level, we recommend adding a little note.
Now, we understand that writing isn't for everyone, but with these simple suggestions, anyone can be a Romeo in writing.
Be Personal: A big rule in writing is show, don't tell. This allows the reader to connect more with the writing by imagining it. The same rule applies to writing a love note. Rather than say, "I love you so much," write about a specific time this was true (I know you love your person always - but I'm sure some moments stand out more than others). By showing them that the love is there, they can connect with the words and you more.
Be Appreciative: Nothing makes a person smile like being appreciated. I mean just imagine your significant other saying thank you for the note. It feels good, right?! There's no doubt that there's something they do that adds to your life: Being a friend, a fantastic parent, etc. Find their thing, and let them know you're thankful.
Be You: They love you (for better or worse), so don't hide it in your writing. If you're goofy, be goofy. If you're romantic, be romantic. The more of "you" that comes across in your writing, the more your loved ones will love it.
So - there it is. Your 3 steps to writing a Valentine's Day card that's guaranteed to put a smile on your loved one's face!
