Teacher's Guide: 3 Tips for Saving on School Supplies
It's the end of August, which means school is very very close. And while you're preparing your class rooms for the year ahead, we wanted to give you some insights on how reduce your costs for paper goods.
We know that classrooms are using more and more digital outlets to teach, but there is still a lot of paper used inside classrooms, which can add up in the end.
So here are a 3 tips on how to save money on school supplies:
- Set a Budget: Before you go out shopping, make sure that you have a number in mind that is your absolute spending limit. That way, you will be able to make each dollar count. If you find that you come in under budget, you can allocate those funds to another area (this only works, if you know that limit)
- Buy in Bulk: Some paper, more than others, will be used continuously throughout the year (or even annually). If you know this to be the case, it makes sense to buy in larger quantities. The initial upfront cost may be more, but you will save yourself in the long run. Additionally, you'll be prepared for the future - giving you one less thing to worry about (enjoy the summer just a little bit longer).
- Know What You Have: School has been out for a couple months now, and it is easy lose track of your supplies. If that's the case for you, try to develop a system where you can track your supplies at the end of the year (this is important if you buy in bulk). If you do have this system in place, this is just a reminder to check before buying again :)
Have a great school year. We at Desktop understand that teachers are under a lot of stress, but handle it greatly. We thank you for that. We hope these tips give you a little break!
